Frequently Asked Questions

Why give my pet fish oil?

Fish oil is a rich source of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids, both of which have several great benefits for pets.

EPA and DHA help support your pet's skin, coat, joint, and heart health.

does my pet need extra omega-3?

The majority of commercial pet foods available today have some omega-3 added. However, there's usually not enough provided, nor is the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 ideal.

Research has shown that an omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 5:1 and lower can be very beneficial for dogs and cats.

How do I give this to my pets?

Apply the correct amount of pumps onto their food, once daily. The dosage recommendations are:

  • 8 oz (237 ml): 1 pump per 5 lbs

  • 16 oz (473 ml): 1 pump per 20 lbs

If your pet isn't currently taking another fish oil, we recommend starting slow with half those dosages, for a period of 10 days:

  • 8 oz (237 ml): 1 pump per 10 lbs

  • 16 oz (473 ml): 1 pump per 40 lbs

How long does a bottle last?

40lbs of combined pet bodyweight: 120 days

80lbs of combined pet bodyweight: 60 days

120lbs of combined pet bodyweight: 40 days

Yes! Picky cats usually love the fact that our Wild Omega-3 doesn't have a strong smell.

Does this need to be refrigerated?

Yes, it does. Fish oils are very susceptible to oxidation and degradation. Leaving a bottle of liquid fish oil at room temperature can accelerate the process.

Will this smell fishy or give my pet “fish breath”?

Because we use an extremely high quality, deodorized fish oil in our product, most customers are very happy with how little (if any) fish odor they can smell.

Your pet shouldn’t get “fish breath” from using our product, nor should their hair start smelling bad.
